R170 is a flammable gas under standard conditions. It is colorless and odorless. It is generally separated from gas, petroleum gas, coke ovens or a by-product of refineries. In petrochemicals, it is a raw material for the production of ethylene and a refrigerant commonly used in industry.It is mainly used to replace R13 and R503 refrigerants in low temperature or ultra-low temperature refrigeration equipment; since R170 is flammable(ASHRAE security level A3), it is usually only used in low temperature refrigeration equipment with less liquid filling, or as a component of low temperature mixed refrigerant; The R170 is compatible with conventional lubricants.
